Who I am

I’m Jeanmarcos Juárez — software engineer, architect, and team lead with 10+ years working in backend and high-traffic platforms. I live in Caracas, Venezuela, and lead a distributed team across five timezones.

What I do

I design the part of digital products people don’t touch directly: system architecture, integration pipelines, database performance, the event bus holding the operation together. I also lead the team that builds it — code reviews, mentorship, planning that respects real humans.

I specialized in Magento and Hyvä almost by accident (I took a freelance gig and stayed eight years), but the real work isn’t the framework: it’s deciding where tech debt is worth paying down and where it isn’t.

How I work

Over the last two years I reshaped my team’s workflow so Claude is a teammate, not a toy. It writes migrations, proposes schemas, reviews PRs — with the limits and controls any teammate should have. I’ll write about this in detail soon.

I think good engineering feels calm. If your team lives putting out fires, something structural is wrong. That diagnosis is half the work.

Why this site

I’ve been writing technical notes for a long time, in notebooks, in Slacks, in private channels. This site is to put them out.
